I'm glad we've begun this STACyear with espionage and secrets, stealth is the kindest way to get to know new people because you learn about others without having to reveal yourself. I think it's clever to start all of the Newbies off with a foolproof way of getting to know everyone else.

The Prisoner was an interesting show to say the least. I'm proud of it for withholding information from us for so long; it must take dedication and assurance that people will stay interested in their plot to not try to lure us in with immediate or easily-sought answers. This show has many potential Writer's Conveniences, or people or things that could easily give everything we need to know and more without having to find the answers for ourselves. By keeping things secretive, the class as a whole has become more intrigued by what more the show has to offer.

After the Prisoner, we learned about "cheating," or rather it was only reenforced for me. The choice phrase Luke used, "If it's good enough for Andy Warhol," stuck with me. I've always been a huge fan of his, and have always appreciated just how simple he made his own life. Instead of painstakingly sketching portraits of people like Marilyn Monroe, so that he could siphon off hours of his time making a piece of art that would be unrecognizable, he "cheated" and became famous. The clever artist can do whatever it takes to make a piece of artwork.
