STAC Trip

Hey all, I'm so glad to see you all had a blast on the first field trip. Am I slightly jealous? Of course, but not really. I like knowing that my STACfamily's doing well and OOFing apparently. I had a great day yesterday as well here in the Colorado good weather. I visited a college, got to travel the streets of Denver with my mother's filming crew and even helped with the tripod. The highlight was getting to meet a woman named Heidi who made a necklace for me last year. (For previous year STACies, you may remember my purple owl necklace?) She's incredibly talented and makes jewelry in her home, located in the mountains.

She was completely awesome, and I loved meeting her for the first time. After I went out to dinner with my mother to meet Heidi and her family, we went to an art exhibit of Mexican origins. I was wonderfully surprised to come face to face with my idol, Frida Kahlo. (By face to face, I don't mean I saw the corpse of Frida. I mean many of the artists used her image, as she was a breakthrough Mexican artist) I wound up getting a wood block with one of her paintings on it to hang in my room, which I'm super excited about.

Anyways, I can't wait for Monday when you can all tell me about the trip and La Cage. I've already devoured all the pictures you've put up. STAC 2011 forever!!
