Pertaining to the episode we haven't finished yet in class that I forget the title of, I believe that from taking some of #6's DNA, most likely from the acquired mole, the Village scientists were able to recreate a clone of him. By keeping #6 inactive for a long time, as we can see from his facial hair, the clone was given ample time to mature to 6's approximate age. This episode is the first in which we are introduced to the Recreation Hall. Recreation, as in re-Creation. The Village is a Recreation Hall in itself; it takes people as they were and shapes them into something completely different.
Also in the episode, I noticed that on the wall of #6's bedroom (although at that time I believe it was technically #12's bedroom wall) there was a portrait that looked like a veteran. He was wearing a red coat, which leads me to believe that the Village may be lead by the British as opposed to the other "side." They want to know whether #6 can be trusted with their secret information on the outside world, which is why they're so intent on finding out why he resigned.
